block s are the sections of a page. Trackside supplies a fixed set, so every block uses the same site styles.

Add and arrange blocks

  1. Open a page from Pages under Website.
  2. Choose a type under Add a block.
  3. Select Add Block and fill in the fields.
  4. Select Save Block. Check the Preview beside the editor.

These steps add a block at the end of the page. To insert elsewhere, open the block's actions menu and select Add above or Add below. Choose a Block type, then select Continue. Fill in the fields and select Save Block.

Use the arrow buttons to move a block up or down. For a longer move, open its actions menu and select Move to…. Choose a New position, then select Move. Each completed move saves the draft.

Select Edit to change a block's content. Its form opens beside the preview. Select Save Block to save your changes and return to the list. Select Cancel to discard the form changes. Select Remove to take a block off the draft.

The list shows each block's heading or a short content summary. It also shows the Section background for blocks other than Hero. The Preview shows the saved draft and updates after a successful save. On a narrow screen, use Editor and Preview to switch panes. Switching panes keeps the form values, but does not save them.

Use a Hero block for an opening image and message. Use Rich text for paragraphs and lists. Use Steps to show a sequence, such as a typical day. Event list, Pass list, Coach roster, and Coaching offerings blocks read current catalog data. FAQ and Sponsors blocks read their own records. You manage those records on the FAQ and Sponsors screens.

The Pass list shows each pass image selected on the Passes screen. Several passes can use the same image.

Show prices from the catalog

Add a Pricing table block to show prices in rows. Each row can use a manual price or a catalog product .

  1. Select Add Row in the Pricing table editor.
  2. Choose an entry, pass, add-on, or coaching offering under Catalog product.
  3. Add a Detail if you need to explain the price.
  4. Save the block and check the Preview.

Trackside reads the selected product's name and current full price. The row changes when staff change that product's price. If staff delete or unpublish the product, the row does not appear. Choose Manual price to enter your own Item and Price.

An Embed block accepts only supported YouTube videos and Google Maps embeds. Trackside does not accept arbitrary scripts or HTML in a block. Use Media Library images for image blocks and galleries.

Each image field in a block has Choose Image. The window shows what the place needs and how well each image fits. A small or wrongly shaped image shows a warning, but you can still use it. For a Hero, the window previews the desktop and phone crops at your focus settings. See Choose an image for a place.

Format text

Rich text and Image + text blocks have a text editor with formatting buttons.

  1. Type your text in Text.
  2. Place the cursor in a paragraph. Select Heading, Subheading, or Paragraph to set its style.
  3. Select Bulleted list or Numbered list to start a list. Press Enter twice to end the list.
  4. Select words and choose Bold or Italic to apply emphasis. Select the same button again to remove it.
  5. Select words and choose Link. Enter a web address or a site path such as /about.

Press Enter at the end of a heading to start a paragraph. Select several paragraphs before choosing Bulleted list or Numbered list to make them list items. Select the same list button again to turn the selected items into paragraphs. To make a heading into a list item, select Paragraph first.

Click a paragraph, heading, or list item three times to select its text. Type to replace the selection while keeping the next paragraph or item separate.

Use Remove link to remove a link from the selected text. Pasted text uses plain formatting. Save the block and check the Preview before you publish.

Add a label above a heading

Most blocks with a heading have a Label above heading field. The label is a short line above the heading, such as "Event day". It uses your accent color and starts with the slanted mark from your theme. A label needs a heading. In a Rich text block, start the text with a heading. In a Hero block, use Label above headline.

Arrange text in a layout

A Rich text block has a Text layout:

  • Standard shows the text in one column.
  • Heading beside text — start with a heading puts the first heading beside the text on wide screens. On phones, the heading appears above the text.
  • Columns — each heading starts a column lets you compare items, such as coaching levels. Add at least two headings. Text before the first heading appears above the columns.

Trackside chooses how many columns fit on each screen.

Place Hero text and actions

Use Desktop text position and Phone text position to place the headline and buttons. Adjust Horizontal focus and Vertical focus for the desktop image crop. Adjust Phone horizontal focus and Phone vertical focus for the phone crop. The two previews show the crops.

Set Hero size to choose the height. Full — an opening image suits the home page. Compact — a page title over a photo suits other pages. Choose a Phone image to show a different photo on phones, such as a tall crop. Without a phone image, phones show the background image.

Set Button label and Button link for the main action. Select Add secondary action to add another button, up to two. Each secondary action needs an Action label and Action link. Select Remove secondary action to remove its label and link together. Select Save Block to save these changes. The Hero uses one still image.

Add photographic tiles

  1. Add a Feature tiles block.
  2. Select Add Tile.
  3. Under Tile image, select Choose Image and choose a photo.
  4. Enter a Tile title and Tile link.
  5. Add a Tile caption if needed.

Each tile links to its destination. Use up to 12 tiles.

Set Tile text to Over the photo to show the title and caption on a dark shade over the photo. Choose Below the photo — keeps titles level to show them under the photo. Use this option when the captions have different lengths.

Trackside chooses the number of columns, so each row is as full as possible. On phones, up to five tiles appear in one column. Six or more tiles appear two across.

Show steps in order

Use a Steps block for a sequence, such as the parts of a track day.

  1. Add a Steps block.
  2. Select Add Step for each step. Use 2 to 8 steps.
  3. Enter a Step title for each step.
  4. Add a Step label, such as a time, and Step text if needed.

Up to five steps go across wide screens. More steps go down the page. On phones, the steps always go down the page. The last step has a filled mark.

A Gallery crops its images to matching frames. Set Image framing to Show whole images — keeps text in artwork to show each image uncropped. Use this option for artwork or graphics that contain text.

Make a statement

A Callout block has a Style. Info, Success, and Warning show a boxed notice. Statement — large text, no box shows the title and text in large type, without a box. Use a statement for a mission or a short message about your organization.

End with a call to action

Add a Callout block and set Style to Call to action. Enter a Title, Link label, and Link. The link label is the button text. Text is optional. This style centers the title, text, and one primary button.

It uses your theme's fonts, colors, and button shape. Use Section background and Space above to fit it into your page. Place it last to give visitors a next step, such as finding your event dates.

Set section backgrounds

Use Section background for any block except Hero. Choose Theme default, Light, Dark, or Photo. For Photo, choose a Section image. A dark shade keeps the section text readable. The background moves with its block. The block list shows your selected background next to the block summary.

Set the space above a block

Use Space above to change the space between a block and the block above it. Choose None, Small, Standard, or Large. Standard keeps the Section spacing from your theme. Small is half as much. Large is one and a half times as much.

Use None or Small to keep related blocks close together. Use Large to set a block apart.

Every block has this setting except a Hero that opens the page. That Hero has no block above it. The setting moves with its block, and you publish it with the page.

Choose coach and listing layouts

In a Coach roster block, set Coach layout to Portrait spotlight for large portraits and short credentials. Choose Compact with biography to show full biographies. Both layouts link to each public coach's profile.

Portrait spotlight shows three or four coaches across on wide screens. Trackside chooses the number, so each row is as full as possible. On phones, up to five coaches appear in one column. Six or more appear two across.

In an Event list block, use Listing type to choose All listings, Hosted events, or Partner rentals. Rental cards explain that riders buy admission from the host organizer separately. Date and venue filters choose listings with a matching upcoming day. Cards retain the full listing date span.
